We have tentative callbacks scheduled for May 19. We will decide after all auditions if we need callbacks.

  • Sing a song for the character you are most interested in.

    • Sing a song for the character you are most interested in.

    • Audition music cuts are provided in the Google Drive!

    • Please rehearse with the provided rehearsal track. That is EXACTLY what will be played in the audition room.

    • Interested in more than one character? You may sing only one song. However- if you are interested in both Laurey and Ado Annie, then we want to hear both songs.

  • Read from one side.

    • Sides are provided in the Google Drive.

    • You will only be allowed to read one side.

  • Dance the choreography that was provided one week in advance.

    • This choreography can be found in the Google Drive.

    • A video will be released exactly one week before auditions.

    • We will have a quick refresher of the choreography.

Everyone in your group will come into the audition room one by one to read a side, and sing. Once everyone in the audition group has completed their singing and reading of a side, everyone will be gathered together to dance. We will spend 15 minutes refreshing the choreography, then we will have everyone dance for evaluation. At this point, we will ask some people to stay, and some people will be dismissed.

PRACTICES: Oklahoma! will rehearse on Sunday nights 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm and Thursday nights 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm. With one Monday rehearsal on June 16 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm. All rehearsals will be at the Historic Elwood Opera House.

FINALLY, if you state on your AUDITION APPLICATION that you would be willing to accept any role, please keep your word.  If you have a preferred role, please list it.  However, withdrawing from a production after the cast list has been announced will make it difficult for you to be cast in future productions.  Thanks for understanding!

FAQ’s:

What time should I arrive? Please arrive absolutely no later than ten minutes before your audition group time slot. We want to make sure everyone is checked in and that we have enough time for announcements. We have a lot of people to get through!

What should I wear to auditions? Please wear clothing you can dance and move in. Don’t worry about trying to “dress the part.”

So, I’m not selecting my own song for auditions? No, we want you to sing a song from the show for the character you are most interested in. Specific measure cuts for the music are provided in the Google Drive. Additionally, accompaniment music recordings are available in the Google Drive. Please select one song to sing for the character you are most interested in. However if you are interested in both Laurey and Ado Annie, we want to hear both songs.

Do I need to bring my own speaker? Will there be a piano accompaniment? We will provide a speaker (don’t worry, it will be loud enough) to play the recorded music accompaniments- the same ones you can find in the Google Drive.

ONCE WE RECEIVE YOUR COMPLETED ONLINE AUDITION FORM YOU WILL BE SENT LINKS TO THE GOOGLE DRIVE INFORMATION.
